@fboss @nomayo_evelyn this is the chat I was telling you about! You should join tonight and share your work #edchatie
Richie Moynihan, PhD. @RMoynihanOCC
@fboss #edchatie I do my corrections on free classes and a max of 30 mins after work. My son wouldn't give me the opportunity to correct at home if I wanted to.
Aishling Donohoe @AshDonohoe
Bopping in and out tonight, busy prepping lessons! Aishling in Dublin, pp Maths and Science #edchatie

fboss @fboss
So, let's get started discussing “Correcting student work - how to do it and still have your evenings off?” How should you do it so you can still have your evenings off? #edchatie

Chris Hickson @hicksoc4
#edchatie Peer correction can work well in some subjects in upper primary classes.
Amy O'Brien @MsAOBrien
Amy in Limerick. Popping in and out when I can #edchatie
Noel Hogan @noelahogan
@fboss Noel Hogan, this is the eternal struggle for me and many others, sometimes you get it right, sometimes you don’t. I find I get more correcting done if I do it standing up. It’s uncomfortable so I get it over quickly! #edchatie
Irene Stone @istone_irene
Irene Stone here. PP teacher of Mathematics and Coding #edchatie
Richie Moynihan, PhD. @RMoynihanOCC
@fboss Dr Richie, teaching Physics and JC Science. #edchatie I do it on my free classes. Only higher order assignments. Recall / lower order assignments are corrected as a class.
J. Sweeney @mssweeneyhomeec
@fboss @nomayo_evelyn #edchatie I - like tonight 🙄 - end up doing a blitz every so often and bringing a lot home but generally use free classes (only part time) for corrections. Haven't quite mastered peer correction although I do find critical self evaluation with seniors useful
DeelyoD @gaelgleoite
Deirdre in Dublin. PP teacher of Irish and History #edchatie
Sinéad Tuohy @GoStressbusterz
One of my annoyances was where I put a lot of effort and time into corrections and feedback only to get the same issues/errors arising the following week 😟 #edchatie
Irene Stone @istone_irene
1/ 2 The issue for me is not 'working in the evenings' - but the correcting - I prefer to spend my time researching new ideas & designing new ways to teach something to meet new @jctmaths spec #edchatie

SCC English @sccenglish
#edchatie Julian from Dublin, English, rarely able to make this time!
Aishling Donohoe @AshDonohoe
I try my best not to take anything home with me! I spend an hour or so after school doing work. Occasionally if I have a set of tests to do I'll bring them home. I try to limit that tho! I use my free classes for correcting. Peer assessment helps too! #edchatie
Aine Woods @Woodsiem
Áine Woods , science teacher who got bogged down in correcting and now rethinking what work I was correcting. On secondment with JCT #edchatie
