MA DTCE @MADTCE
Thanks for joining us today, @BerryCamille and @serranamuniz. The first question to you, what made you interested in the program and decide to join on the first place? #10yearmadtce
Camille Berry @BerryCamille
@MADTCE @serranamuniz I was looking for a programme that married Education with Information Technology and I was drawn to the University of Manchester because of its reputation. It was ideal for me #10yearmadtce
Camille Berry @BerryCamille
@MADTCE @serranamuniz Although dissapointed at first at not being able to attend physically, I enjoyed my online experience. #10yearmadtce
Serrana Muniz @serranamuniz
@MADTCE @BerryCamille I was already working in the field of Learning Technologies with the Ceibal en Inglés programme and wanted to specialise so I could make more informed decisions in my professional practice. My co-worker @grahamstanley, also a Manchester alumni, strongly recommended the programme.
Serrana Muniz @serranamuniz
@BerryCamille @MADTCE I actually found studying through distance education very enriching, I learnt a great deal about online learning by experiencing it :).
MA DTCE @MADTCE
Our second question to @BerryCamille and @serranamuniz is what are your most favorite course(s) during your time in the programme? Why? #10yearmadtce –psst, feel free to mention the lecturers too!
Serrana Muniz @serranamuniz
@MADTCE @BerryCamille This is a hard question. Tutors had different styles and strategies and that also taught us a lot! I distinctly remember all the tools @garymotteram had us use and then problematise about in the Teaching and Learning Online module...
Serrana Muniz @serranamuniz
@MADTCE @BerryCamille @garymotteram as well as @DrewWhitworth1's collaborative tasks with thought-provoking questions and synchronous meetings of discussion!
Camille Berry @BerryCamille
@MADTCE @serranamuniz Wow. I enjoyed the course that looked at Emerging Technologies which allowed me to blog and work with others. The course Communication in Education was my best grade because of the reflective piece. I love Drew Whitmore and Mike ODonoghue #10yearmadtce
Camille Berry @BerryCamille
@MADTCE @serranamuniz My apologies for not remembering all the names but they were all helpful and caring. #10yearmadtce
MA DTCE @MADTCE
@BerryCamille @serranamuniz it's alright, Camille. They're indeed very passionate about teaching, am I right?
MA DTCE @MADTCE
Our third question is what are the most valuable lesson that you got from the programme, @BerryCamille and @serranamuniz? #10yearmadtce
Camille Berry @BerryCamille
@MADTCE @serranamuniz 1. Keep it fresh and current. Find ways to utilise the latest technologies in the classroom. I love Second Life from I first learned about it in this programme. 2. It's good to collaborate! 3. Research is important. Use the Literature! #10yearmadtce
Serrana Muniz @serranamuniz
@MADTCE @BerryCamille I learnt so much! But I’d say that to collectively problematise professional practice and find support in communities of practice are amongst the most valuable :).
MA DTCE @MADTCE
Next, @BerryCamille and @serranamuniz, how did the program help you in your career after graduation? #10yearmadtce
Serrana Muniz @serranamuniz
@MADTCE @BerryCamille Graduation is actually in July and I hope to be there to meet everyone in the flesh! Working in the field while doing the MA made it a very meaningful experience since I could actually put what I learn into practice.
Camille Berry @BerryCamille
@MADTCE @serranamuniz It gave me a platform on which to build and it helped me in my instructional strategies and pedagogies at the University level. I was able to use all that I had learned whether as a teacher educator or researcher. #10yearmadtce
MA DTCE @MADTCE
What will be your tips or suggestions for future students of @madtce, @@BerryCamille and @serranamuniz? #10yearsmadtce
