.@bescofield Please tell me your discussion with @timjacobwise was some kind of performance art parody? Please.
part imaginary @root_e
The effect of the "progressive" right-wing attack on Obama is to drown out all real progressive/liberal discussion
part imaginary @root_e
Dear Lord, please let that http://t.co/RY4G6ap6 be the peak stupid for "progressives". I don't know if we can stand much more.
part imaginary @root_e
Some really interesting discussion of markets in economics http://t.co/ZHBUvwWH

I am now officially embarrassed to have ever even read Tikkun http://t.co/RY4G6ap6 @tikkunonline @rabbilerner
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e Tim Wise said that U.S. Foreign policy is racist. Obama has expanded/worsened U.S. foreign policy. What's the confusion?
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield You really want to argue that Obama worsened US Foreign policy and that Ron Paul's mercenary pirates ideas are better?
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e Not a supporter of Ron Paul at all. Won't vote for him or Obama. But is Tim Wise wrong about U.S. foreign policy?
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield US foreign policy has always been racist. Yet I endorse FDRs war against Hitler. You might dissent.
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield Abraham Lincoln was racist, yet I endorse his war against the slave states. Adults understand that morality is not simple.
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e All Greenwald was saying is that he's glad a major presidential candidate is raising the anti-Imperialism questions that Paul is
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield And what Wise pointed out is that racist isolationism is not anti-imperialism, it's racist isolationism.
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e Will you not admit that it is a good thing that Ron Paul has voiced these concerns in a public sphere? Agn I wont' vote for him.
part imaginary @root_e
.@bescofield and that's not what Greenwald was saying- he was drawing an explicit contrast
part imaginary @root_e
.@bescofield Do you think it was a good thing for Hitler to voice concerns about banking too?
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield Your non-vote for Paul is not as issue. What's at issue is your morally insane comparison of him to Obama.
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield Do you think that Ron Paul's ideas for chartering mercenary assassins represent a great moral alternative to US foreign policy?
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield You do know that the John Birch society has been "voicing" such concerns for decades?
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e I'm not comparing him to Obama. I'm merely showing hypocrisy of supporting Obama who's slaughtered people of color en mass.
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e In the context of Orientalism, Western Imperialism and hegemony these policies are racist.
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield Same with FDR, I suppose, who slaughtered people of color en-masse - while Hitler "voiced concerns" about banking - right?
part imaginary @root_e
.@bescofield In the context of George Wallace, the southern strategy, and reconstruction, Greenwald's apologia for Paul is racist.
Be Scofield @bescofield
@rootless_e Ok, so Ron Paul = Hitler. I don't see world in either/or terms like you do.
part imaginary @root_e
@bescofield You don't see the logical implications of your reasoning.

Evidently some "progressive" Paul supporters have been smoking skunk weed laced with stupid.

Rootless makes a good point. Why do Greenwald and Bescofield hitch their anti-war wagon to Ron Paul instead of Barbara Lee, who has been consistently anti-war for years? Could it be they're dismissing Ms. Lee due to their own racism?
