Very good advice. Possibly something to Remember for #edchatie twitter.com/CyberSafeIE/st…

For students to learn they need emotional safety. Their needs are now more complex. For a teacher to helps students brains be in safety /learning mode they've to be carers first. Tough as that's not in training #edchatie

Not sure I agree with this - I think the value of pastoral care in terms of support and raising aspirations has been recognised with pedagogical research but academics still key #edchatie

For the next hour, tonight, on #edchatie we're talking "Teaching is now more a care profession than an academic one. Discuss"

@resilientminds_ Welcome to tonight's #edchatie discussion on "Teaching is now more a care profession than an academic one. Discuss"

Would not fully agree with the statement, however becoming more of a balance between academic and care/wellbeing #edchatie

@ciaramcguane I'm thinking of Humanist philosophies of education, Such as Steiner, Montessori, Regio Emilia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggio_Em…, all of which put the learner in the centre of the picture. #edchatie
