When You Can't Argue Just Obfuscate

I made a comment to @Shoq, and @MichaelGalvin01 took it upon himself to engage me. Later accused me of some amusing things, and then blocked me. His last three tweets are some seriously hilarious stuff, especially in context with what he was telling me earlier. Oh, and @Shoq lent a hand. Interesting, I think.
Shoq @Shoq

Obama just spoke of all the things that Teddy Roosevelt wanted for America? DID IT HAPPEN IN HIS TERM? OR EVEN HIS LIFETIME? No. #p2

Andrew @timeoutcorner

@Shoq Well, let's not forget the Great White Fleet. Surely a mighty testament to Teddy's progressive nature. ^_^ @MichaelGalvin01

Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq Obama's channeling the "progressive" Teddy Roosevelt does not imply support for imperial expansionism IMHO.

08/12/2011 08:07:10 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 Then how do you make amends for Obama's use of, say, extra-judicial assassination? Teddy might have flipped at that. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:09:43 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 At any rate, Obama has done nothing effective to check US expansionist policy. Lots of show, but wars drag on. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:10:47 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 That is firmly in keeping with the expansionist policies of Theodore Roosevelt, self-labelled 'progressive' or no. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:11:31 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I respectfully disagree. We are almost totally out of Iraq and the withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan is coming.

08/12/2011 08:17:25 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 If US is 'almost totally out of Iraq', what of the ~20,000 US-funded mercenaries saying there? @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:18:49 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I understand your position, but I disagree. I do believe that the problem is more complex and quick actions dangerous.

08/12/2011 08:18:31 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 It never seems to dawn that the systems which created given problems can never be used to fix them. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:20:55 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq The Iraq government will have oversight on that as it should be.

08/12/2011 08:24:19 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 You make the rash assumption that those who pay for the mercs won't dictate their use. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:25:17 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I don't think it is a rash assumption. They may control them, but if Iraqi citizens are injured, Iraq govt can arrest.

08/12/2011 08:27:00 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I was against going into Iraq from the beginning, but GWB got us in, so we need to deal with it and we've done that.

08/12/2011 08:28:08 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 And since when has the US-puppet gov been interested in law. Or even Iraqi citizens. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:29:28 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I wish A Hitler, etc was dealt with by extra-judicial assissination. No apologies. Not all of the left is ANTI military

08/12/2011 08:16:25 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 And what about US citizens? When there's no judge, no oversight, is that not simply terrorism by another name? @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:18:03 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I don't have an argument with how it has been excercized to date (i.e. Anwar al-Awlaki)

08/12/2011 08:22:45 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 Yet you defend the principle upon which it is based: Act outside law so as to defend law. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:23:38 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I understand the paradox, but I'm a pragmatist. These ppl were actively engaging in terrorism against our people.

08/12/2011 08:25:40 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I do not disagree with you that it would be better to live in a world where the rule of law was respected and effective

08/12/2011 08:28:50 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 You say you were against the Iraqi war, but yet you sign onto 'methods' espoused by Bush. Interesting. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:30:07 WIB
Michael Galvin @NC_MJGalvin

@timeoutcorner @Shoq I'm a pragmatist. To demonize every act or position of one because some were wrong is disingenuous.

08/12/2011 08:31:52 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 So although the war was wrong, those policies which were elaborated therefrom are not necessarily bad? Interesting. @Shoq

08/12/2011 08:32:47 WIB
Andrew @timeoutcorner

@MichaelGalvin01 So would you agree, in turn, with calls to assassinate, say, Julian #Assange? @Shoq
