@AyeshaKazmi I hope that we may be seeing the final days of Capitalism. If only we can get together and choose a better way of life.
Ayesha Kazmi @AyeshaKazmi
Here's a question for you guys. Is capitalism really the problem? Or is it capitalism without limits/regulation? (honest question folks!)
Red Seeker @timeoutcorner
@AyeshaKazmi Capitalism is the problem. Restraints obviously don't work, as the orgy of deregulation adequately demonstrates, IMO. :)
Helena Handbasket @ennuideluxe
@AyeshaKazmi Perhaps its capitalism that excludes compassion thats the problem.
🏴 Exceedingly Unseelie 🖤 Anti-Brexit Dissident @der_bluthund
@AyeshaKazmi It's crony capitalism / monopolist corporations versus real "stand on your own merits or go to the wall" capitalism...
Ayesha Kazmi @AyeshaKazmi
That corporations move across the world to exploit (already poor) workers w/out challenge or penalty - screws EVERYONE not just westerners.
Brett @brflux
@AyeshaKazmi I think it is capitalism without limits/regulation and naked greed.
Peripheral Intelligence Agency @YetAnotherJon
@AyeshaKazmi It is structurally incapable of being sustainable cos of the need for constant growth.
@AHourseOfCorse
@AyeshaKazmi by capitalism's nature it subverts all attempts at regulations. There's no way to "chain the beast"

@AyeshaKazmi If something is too big to fail it is a monopoly with a fraudulent means of blackmailing society for its continued existence...
@BartAlder
@AyeshaKazmi I don't know that capitalism with socially responsible regulation is really still capitalism in the strictest sense.
MJP @mathenjp
@AyeshaKazmi we have crony capitalism.. or corporate capitalism.. where the rich and connected are given bailouts.. therest of us - cut cut
Brett @brflux
@AyeshaKazmi and corporations not paying their fair share of taxes.
Ayesha Kazmi @AyeshaKazmi
.@ennuideluxe surely alternative systems to capitalism also lacking compassion were equally horrible, no?
Man's best trend @wordymcwriter
@AyeshaKazmi Any attempts to limit or regulate capitalism are subverted by bribery and/or force. Capitalism is the problem, full stop.
Bluecheck @ManIsFree
@AyeshaKazmi Capitalism, by definition, is without limit/regulation. Hence the terms Laissez Faire and Free Market.
Ayesha Kazmi @AyeshaKazmi
"Naked greed" in any system-capitalist or its alternatives-are doomed to fail. thats why im not always convinced that capitalism is the prob
Helena Handbasket @ennuideluxe
@AyeshaKazmi They are. I would guess that a lot of the problems with any system get mislabeled, when it's really the lack of compassion
Peripheral Intelligence Agency @YetAnotherJon
@ennuideluxe capitalism is happy to sell compassion; Fair Trade, Ethical goods, Charities. Turn anything into a commodity @AyeshaKazmi
Red Seeker @timeoutcorner
@AyeshaKazmi Put it this way: when you know someone is a pyromaniac, no need to hand them a flamethrower. :P
Ayesha Kazmi @AyeshaKazmi
.@AHourseOfCorse Don't other systems also seek ways to subvert attempts to regulate?
Brett @brflux
@AyeshaKazmi and labor unions in the U.S. have been weakened to the point of irrelevance.
Codeine Coma boB @Ghostpickles
@AyeshaKazmi it is the problem. sets up a system in which 2 outcomes, success or failure, both determined by a price value.
Ayesha Kazmi @AyeshaKazmi
.@wordymcwriter wouldnt you say that other systems would also attempt to subvert regulation - where bribary/force also used?
🏴 Exceedingly Unseelie 🖤 Anti-Brexit Dissident @der_bluthund
@Ghostpickles @AyeshaKazmi The problem is that communism is just as bad as capitalism - the bankers still make their killing out of both...
