No Refusal Weekend

July 4th weekend, many TX cities participated in "No refusal"-- refuse to take a breathalyzer and it's automatic arrest.

This weekend was "no refusal"- get pulled over & you take a breathalyzer or get arrested & blood sampled.

All it takes is a head shake to be legally detained & have your blood taken.
@ExcuseMeMissPTD
@soulrebelJ Where was that at? That is interesting!

@ExcuseMeMissPTD It wasn't just FW, many TX cities did it this weekend. A quick group 4th amend't circumvent, then back to normal laws.
@ExcuseMeMissPTD
@soulrebelJ Wow! Thanks for the info and link. What's your opinion on this?
Enmore Ning Phacaugh @soulrebelJ
@ExcuseMeMissPTD Completely against. Guaranteed arrest for refusing an arbitrary test? I don't even need to see stats on who was arrested.

We already have DD laws. #Norefusal weekend made easy arrest for "selected" areas. Can law be changed so easily, & why?
@ExcuseMeMissPTD
@soulrebelJ I understand the conspiracy angle, but if you drive responsibly, 99.99999% of the time, you won't be harrassed
Enmore Ning Phacaugh @soulrebelJ
@ExcuseMeMissPTD I don't DD or endorse it. #Norefusal is like a speed trap: yes speeding is bad, but $ shouldn't motivate.
@ExcuseMeMissPTD
@soulrebelJ I mean, I hear both sides, but $$ motivate everything else in life unfortunately, why not motivate a decrease in crime?
Enmore Ning Phacaugh @soulrebelJ
@ExcuseMeMissPTD Enforcement focus is their choice, but temporarily changing arrest laws undermines the already flawed process.
Enmore Ning Phacaugh @soulrebelJ
@ExcuseMeMissPTD For safety, why not always have the #norefusal law? Don't arbitrarily change arrest standards. Bad practice.
Enmore Ning Phacaugh @soulrebelJ
When the law speaks, any counter position is unlawful. This is why the law should be slow to speak, clearl, & universal. #norefusal
@ExcuseMeMissPTD
@soulrebelJ I AGREE with that!!! :-) There's always going to be bad cops/power of discretion, etc...but start with consistent strong laws!
Enmore Ning Phacaugh @soulrebelJ
@ExcuseMeMissPTD Its a hard topic. The law is anti-DD, so am I pro-DD? No! I'm pro-strong & consistent system. #norefusal
