@bbastiaensen
#LSLCHAT it's the teacher that teaches, not technology. So maybe teachers should chose the approach? Or do pupils?
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
@MZeyringer #LSLCHAT depends on what teachers put on the learning environment.
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
#LSLCHAT we have a brand new Virtual Learning Environment, i wonder how many students will really use it
Marie-Leet Bens
@BensBel
#LSLCHAT Thanks to technology pupils are more motivated. Isn't motivation the start of every learning project?
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
@MZeyringer @BartVerswijvel #LSLCHAT got it from a Dutch master Thesis on flipped classroom. Just a sec, i'll look it up.
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
@bbastiaensen @BartVerswijvel #LSLCHAT Sorry, can you give me more information on Mayer 1997 & 2002?
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
@BartVerswijvel #LSLCHAT sometimes a gut feeling says enough. And mine says that technology enhanced learning does improve learning quality
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
@BartVerswijvel #LSLCHAT I believe it's an intuition? On the other hand their are many prooves that traditionnal learning is not efficient
Kornelia Lohynova
@lohynova
#LSLCHAT technology is a part of the life of our students and makes learning more interesting
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
Bart Verswijvel
@BartVerswijvel
#lslchat Is there scientific proof that learning with technology is better?
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
#LSLCHAT I strongly believe that students should be creators, not receivers of knolwedge
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
#LSLCHAT This afternoon @BensBel told she drops chapters in textbook in favor of #etwinning projects. A lot of teachers were very amused.
Marie-Leet Bens
@BensBel
#LSLCHAT Hello, Marie-Leet from Belgium-Flanders, teaching French Foreign Language & Art History. Like books, yes, to READ, not to teach!
Bart Verswijvel
@BartVerswijvel
#lslchat Textbook is one thing, educational interaction is maybe more important?
Kornelia Lohynova
@lohynova
#LSLCHAT Hi, I am Kornelia, economy and management teacher from Slovakia. I prepare materials myself and cooperate with students as well
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
#LSLCHAT Teachers should have a choice - be independent to choose how they will teach a concept - in a traditional or new way
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
#LSLCHAT but of course some textbooks, same test provide a framework to score and measure according a standard. is this a good thing?
Liga Kraukle
@Kraukle
#LSLCHAT In my school I sometimes teach maths rule in three or more ways, each pupil understand different
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
@BartVerswijvel @abfromz have to convince them to spend money on ICT material! 1 IWB in our school, only 2 teachers use it! #LSLCHAT
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
@BartVerswijvel@abfromz are all colleagues in favour of dropping the textbook? #LSLCHAT >not all,because not using textbooks means more work
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
@BartVerswijvel: @abfromz are all colleagues in favour of having no textbooks anymore? #LSLCHAT no!using the same textbook means less work
Liga Kraukle
@Kraukle
#LSLCHAT agree, teacher has to know how to reach the best result, sometimes traditional
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
Bart Verswijvel
@BartVerswijvel
#lslchat For me technology gives the opportunity to involve and engage all students
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
Technology has added value as soon as it improves the way we teach or pupils learn. And improvement can have many forms. #LSLCHAT
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
#LSLCHAT And what's most terrible is that all the teachers in a department MUST agree on ONE book only!!!!
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
#LSLCHAT In Croatia things are beginning to change (at a very slow pace though) but we still need to have a textbook!!!
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
#LSLCHAT on the other hand. It's stupid to all invent great material simultaneously. We can prefectly use great material that already exist
Vijay Krishnan
@bucharesttutor
@BartVerswijvel IMHO first teach the teachers the necessary tech tools what they need to use and then start training the kids #LSLCHAT
michael zeyringer
@MZeyringer
#LSLCHAT How can you convince a "traditionnal teacher" to change his ways of teaching?
Arjana Blazic
@abfromz
#LSLCHAT I think that the future of edu is teachers AND students creating their OWN materials
Bart Verswijvel
@BartVerswijvel
#lslchat Also important: common sense. Traditionalists and innovators must not be dogmatic.. and wear 'eye-pads'
Ben Bastiaensen
@bbastiaensen
For a lot of teachers their handbook is "the bible". But it's the set of learning goals that's important. not the handbook you use. #LSLCHAT
