Re; Assange Fact Check: while the number of espionage cases has doubled under Obama the number of whistleblowers being prosecuted has not.
M @m_cetera
@FactCheckJohn Assange says "prosecutions" which could be synonymous with cases. Plus you forgot Obama's 8th case: http://t.co/jJScTYuMyT

@m_cetera Not forgotten, the eighth case wasn't in the same basket - he took info but didn't leak, thus didn't "blow the whistle".
M @m_cetera
@FactCheckJohn I suggest rephrasing, because you list the seven simply under "charges have been laid"; no use of leaker or whistleblower.
M @m_cetera
@FactCheckJohn And I would still like an answer re Assange's use of "prosecutions" :)

@m_cetera I'll pass along your suggested clarification for consideration by the editors of the piece - thanks.

@FactCheckJohn Thank you, and thank you for your responses!

RMIT ABC Fact Check @ABCFactCheck
@m_cetera He retained the info, didn't disseminate it so not a whistleblower. "Could be synonymous" is not the same as means the same thing.
M @m_cetera
@ABCFactCheck What I'm saying is Assange does not say "8 people have been prosecuted". His phrasing is vague enough to interpret either way.
M @m_cetera
@ABCFactCheck Not true. In your claim box you state "says Barack Obama has prosecuted more whistleblowers" which is not what he said.
M @m_cetera
@ABCFactCheck I do appreciate you taking the time to discuss this, but I think you are putting your own interpretation into his words.
