Or the idea of reprieve in the morning?

Flirt with the devil without any of the dangers.

One of those moments when being alive feels real.

To scream my memories to the world.

Howl on my behalf because I'm done howling.

Make things move because I have forgotten how.

Give me a choice between flying and being anchored.

But the wind last night did none of those things.

All it did was to remind me of silences.

It spoke to me of long journeys and failed experiments and hopeless desire.
-
And I was forced to listen.
-
So this morning I expected to see a changed world.
-
I wanted the night to have done things that were irreversible.
-
Maybe it did.
-
We will soon know.
