As family and friends laid to rest seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin this week, questions continued to mount surrounding the teen’s suspicious murder by the hands of a Neighborhood Watch officer wh
o carried a concealed handgun.
The teen’s father has launched a petition calling on Florida’s 18th Disgtrict State’s Attorney to investigate the youth’s murder and to prosecute Zimmerman who has not been charged and remains free.
An excerpt from the petition reads: “Trayvon's killer, George Zimmerman, admitted to police that he shot Trayvon in the chest. Zimmerman, the community's self appointed "neighborhood watch leader," called the police to report a suspicious person when he saw Travyon, a young black man, walking from the store. But Zimmerman, who is white, still hasn't been charged for murdering my son.”
